All About Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns, or “caps” as some call them, are custom-made restorations (covers) for teeth that have been extensively damaged, cracked or weakened teeth that a regular filling isn’t sufficient to ensure the tooth’s longevity.

At the first appointment, we prepare and reduce the surface of the tooth to allow the crown to fit over it. Next, we take an impression and send to the laboratory for permanent crown construction. At the end of this visit, we attach a temporary crown to protect the tooth until the permanent crown is ready.

At the second visit, we cement the permanent crown and make sure that it looks natural and allows you to bite comfortably. That’s it!

Your dental crown will look, feel, and function just like a regular tooth.
