Traditional Dentures Can Replace Full or Partial Tooth Loss

Whilst the technology behind dentures has not changed for quite some time, they can, when made well using modern techniques, provide a comfortable fit and appear natural.

Today’s dentures are comfortable and natural looking. No one will even be able to tell that they’re not your “real” teeth!

There are basically three types of dentures.

  • Full Dentures that replaces all your teeth
  • Partial Dentures that replaces several missing teeth
  • Implant supported / retained Dentures (requires a referral to a Prosthodontist)

We begin by taking an impression of your dental arch which is used to custom make your dentures. If your dentures are full, and any extractions are necessary, a temporary denture is placed to assist with the healing and to provide “teeth” while your gums heal. A final denture is prepared after all healing has taken place, usually after 3 months.

Partial dentures replace missing teeth and are attached to existing teeth with anchors made of plastic or metal.
